Adam Cadwell’s only gone and bloody done it. He’s created the very first British Comic Awards, and it’s about time. British comics have been evolving for years, and it’s fair to say that we’re now one of the undisputed leaders in the international comics scene. A glance at the cast list of comics major players sees plenty of Brits on the field. So now’s your chance to really sort the wheat from the chaff, and see a deserved winner claim a prize.

There’s more info on how to apply over at the BCA website, and you can vote for absolutely anyone. It would be remiss of us not to ask that you spare a thought for the Jonathan Cape roster, though. Of our lot, you might consider the following:

  • Dotter of her Father’s Eyes by Bryan and Mary Talbot
  • Please God, Find Me A Husband! by Simone Lia
  • I’m Never Coming Back by Julian Hanshaw
  • Adamtine by Hannah Berry
  • Days of the Bagnold Summer by Joff Winterhart (debut)
  • The Tale of Brin & Bent and Minno Marylebone by Ravi Thornton & Andy Hixon (debut)

The award will be launched at Thought Bubble in November. We can’t wait!
